For 9 months I carried you
I watched stretchmarks invade my flawless skin
Like aeroplane trails in the sky
I watched my stomach ever grow
Like a beautiful rose emerging from nowhere roots
Breathing normally became ambitious
And sleeping became a distant memory
As you kicked your tiny feet against your temporary home
To inadvertently let me know
Your cravings once again
9 months went and came far too quickly
Like day turns to night without a thought
And the highs and lows of pregnancy
Once again surfaced themselves
Just before you screamed your way into the world
A nervous wreck at the thought of being a mother
Was I going to be good enough to look after
The beautiful bundle that would become you?
But just like there is a rainbow after rain
I knew we too would survive the lows because of the highs
Seeing your daddy play with you, comfort you
Laugh with you and cry with you
I knew that you were a gift to be cherished
Loved like the evening summer sun
Treasured like the adorning winter Yuletide
For when I am with you and your father
Seeing you smile those little smiles
Like the beautiful sun rays upon glazed windows
And knowing that we have created a beautiful life
I am home
I watched stretchmarks invade my flawless skin
Like aeroplane trails in the sky
I watched my stomach ever grow
Like a beautiful rose emerging from nowhere roots
Breathing normally became ambitious
And sleeping became a distant memory

Rosie
There was a girl who wandered off...
She never came back,
Even when the skylight turned black
There was worry, there was fear
But the town accepted
The truth was here
A cold case
A story for no one to hear
Day after day the autumn grows dark
The town, the people, the flowers in the park
All had dread for good news might never come
Dead in the ground?
Where has she gone?
But it all went by, one cry at a time
Only aged 11 ,but did it matter?
Her family was shattered
Every day was the same despair
But there was a boy who actually cared
He took flight on his red bicycle and didn't stop
He got to her house and his heart dro

That one girl
She's that one girl you see with the pencil woven
between her skinny fingers
She's the one who sits in the corner
instead of the middle of the room
The one who's always last to speak
The one who's words are kept secret to everyone
but herself
Always the one who bites
her own tongue
She's the girl who's beautiful
but doesn't think the same way
She's the one who can't be convinced
of the talents she holds
The flare that ignites the lives of the people around her
but she can't feel the heat for herself
She is weighed down by the insecurities she slings
over her shoulders
She's unconvinced of her own style
her own special self

Apart from love
They say they never work
But we will let them know
It’s hard enough being alone
But it’s even harder without each other
Because, even though you’ve left my side
I can still hear you cry
Fear that brings all the doubts and lies
Forgive me please if I can’t show you my love from so far
Your heart and mine,
They’re fragile by the tides
We’re bleeding and bleeding
With nowhere to hide
We’ve got no home,
When we’re set so apart

So beautiful!! Makes me excited for motherhood, even though that probably won't be happening for a while. Still, what a great, amazing poem.
